2017 Germination Project Icon Award: Temple University Hospital

On September 19, 2017, the Germination Project’s Icon Award was presented to Dr. Larry Kaiser on behalf of Temple University Hospital for its role in serving as the de facto public hospital of Philadelphia and helping to improve the lives of Philadelphia’s most vulnerable neighbors.

Each year, the Germination Project identifies an individual or organization that demonstrates unparalleled leadership and tenacious dedication in making a positive impact in the Philadelphia community. Past recipients of the Germination Project’s Icon Award include Dr. Jean Bennett and Dr. Albert Maguire of Penn Medicine for their trailblazing research in developing treatments for juvenile genetic blindness.
